How it works?
For whom?
Application
Do you fall under the target group that the All Stars Diving Foundation is committed to and do you want to sign up for the SSI Open Water Diver training or further training, then we would like to ask you to contact us in advance to discuss your objectives. A medical questionnaire will also be handed out during this interview, which must be completed. There is a chance that a medical diving examination must be undergone. A medical diving examination will in most cases be reimbursed by your health insurance. Please contact your health insurance company for this.
If a medical diving examination is necessary, we first await this examination. After approval from the doctor, the medical assessment form can be sent digitally to the secretariat. If you do not have a scanner, you can also send the medical assessment form by post to the secretariat;

After receiving the medical assessment form, we will contact you again to discuss the next steps. Together we will create an account on DiveSSI, after ordering and payment the online teaching material will be available here, we will go through the planning, immediately arrange insurance for the duration of the training and answer any questions. This is all included in the price.
It may be unnecessary to mention, but the places are limited and because we, as a non-profit foundation, are committed to (former) professional first responders such as the police officers, firefighters, paramedics and employees of the army who have been diagnosed with a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or who suffer from other similar psychological complaints, we urge you not to use our services if you do not fall under the target group.
Dive equipment
No diving without diving equipment, so we must ensure that you are provided with complete diving equipment. We receive these on loan for the duration of the training. Depending on where you live, we have different sponsors who support you in this. From a hygienic point of view, it is a requirement to purchase a mask, snorkel and shoes yourself.
Theory
If you are registered for the SSI Open Water Diver or a further course, we will start with the theory. This can largely be done online, but because we think it is important that you really understand the theory behind diving or the specialty, we also schedule a theory lesson. This way we know for sure that you are well prepared for entering the water.
Practice
In the pool or confined water part of the open water you learn different skills. You practice this first with the instructor. The instructor adjusts the program to your speed. We think personal attention is very important. That’s why we don’t move on to the next exercise until you’re really ready. When you have practiced all skills a number of times, this will be after about 5 sessions for the SSI Open Water Diver course, we will make a real dive. Together we will see what you feel comfortable with, usually we don’t go that deep the first time, then you can get used to everything around you. Do you like it and are you curious about more? Then we adjust the plans and go a little deeper, up to a maximum of 18 meters. Here too, we adjust all plans to what you feel comfortable with.
It is an adapted practical part for further education. This depends on the further education. Here too, we adjust all plans to what you feel comfortable with.
Certification
Once you have completed the theoretical part online, you will take a written or online exam, depending on the type of training. If you have achieved this and you have also dealt with and mastered all skills, then you have passed the relevant training. All patents are valid worldwide. For the SSI Open Water Diver, you and your buddy can make dives up to 18 meters.
